Dorset Board & Boatworks was set up in November 2019 by Sam Barker after many years of working with and learning from number of local boatbuilders.
We pride ourselves in providing an honest, reliable and affordable service with quick turn around times to get you back to what you love doing!
We work with you to come up with the very best solutions for your challenges!
ABOUT
My Name is Sam Barker and I am the founder of Dorset Board & Boatworks.
After leaving school, I was invited to work for a number of well-respected, local Boat Builders. During this time, I learned invaluable skills and techniques that would form the basis of what I now know .
I also trained as an accountant but after realising an office environment wasn’t for me, I decided to start my own business.
I combined my background of boatbuilding, passion for water sports and accounting experience to form Dorset Board & Boatworks.
In 2022, I took the decision to take a full time job at Ovington Boats and to move to do the Dorset Board & Boatworks work to evenings and weekends. While this may seem like a lot, I enjoy what I do!
